According to a recent report published by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), growth trends are clearly visible in almost every category of surgical and non-surgical procedures. Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation continues to be one of the most sought after aesthetic surgery procedures for women in the US. A total of 286,254 breast augmentation procedures were carried out in the country in 2014, which represents a rise of 35% since 2000.
Breast Implant Removal
Only 23,774 breast implant removal procedures took place in 2014, registering a decline of 42% since the year 2000. This only indicates a greater success rate of breast augmentation plastic surgery over the years.
Breast Lift (Mastopexy)

The demand for breast reduction for men grew by 14% in one year, with 26,715 surgeries carried out in 2014.
Buttock Augmentation with Fat Grafting
An increase of 15% year on year was reported in 2014 for this procedure, with 11,505 surgeries in the year.
Buttock Implants and Lift
Buttock implants almost doubled in 2014 as compared to the previous year, with 1,863 procedures performed in 2014. Buttock lift procedure registered a growth of 44% in comparison to 2013, with 3,505 surgeries in 2014.
Other major procedures performed in 2014 included chin and cheek implants, facelift, eyelid lift, brow lift, otoplasty, rhinoplasty, hair transplant surgery, lip augmentation, lip reduction, lower body lift, thigh lift, neck lift, abdominoplasty, pectoral implants, and an arm lift.
Minimally Invasive Procedures
Botulinum Toxin Type A (Botox or Dysport)
Anti-aging injectables to reduce wrinkles and fine lines on the face such as Botox and Dysport continued to lead in 2014. Nearly 6.7 million procedures were performed in 2014, which is a jump of eight times over 2000.
Chemical Peels
The growth in chemical peel procedures was 7% in 2014 over the previous year, with a total of 1.25 million procedures.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
About 622,000 IPL treatments were performed in 2014, revealing an increase of 3% over 2013, according to the ASPS data.
Laser Hair Removal
More than 1.1 million laser hair removal procedures were performed in 2014, making it one of the most sought after treatments.
Laser Skin Resurfacing
Nearly 544,000 laser skin resurfacing procedures were carried out in 2014, registering a growth of 6% over 2013.
Facial Fillers
Dermal filler injectable treatments for facial rejuvenation continue to dominate with over 2.3 million procedures performed in 2014.
Almost 14 million minimally invasive aesthetic procedures were performed in 2014, recording a jump of 154% over 2000.
