Breast Lift Plastic Surgery Overview
Are you considering a breast lift surgery? If so, you are in the company of millions of women across the country who seek to boost their figure and get a more youthful profile by way of cosmetic surgery. A breast lift surgery, also known as mastopexy, raises the breasts and tightens the tissues surrounding them to support and reshape the breasts. Incisions are made to remove the skin before the surrounding tissue is reshaped.
How is the surgery performed?
The breast lift surgery is performed in an outpatient setting in your plastic surgeon’s facility. Before the plastic surgery is performed, your surgeon will meet you, and so will the nurses and anesthesiologist at the office in Las Vegas, NV.
There are many methods used in the removal and reshaping of breast skin and tissue. Your plastic surgeon will identify where incisions are going to be made. The cuts could be made in the area around the nipples, the areolae.
In some cases, your surgeon could decide to make an incision that stretches downward to the crease of the breast from the dark area around the nipples. The surgeon may also make an incision that stretches along the crease of the breast horizontally.
Once the incisions are made, your cosmetic surgeon will position your nipples higher, and close the incisions. The plastic surgery could take two-three hours, and once it is done, your breasts will be covered with some gauze and you will be asked to use a surgical bra.
